The length and dollar-figure of Udoka’s extension have not been released at this time. However, this morning on the Pat McAfee Show, Charania called the extension an “eight-figure deal.”
Udoka led the Rockets to a 52-30 regular season record in the 2024-25 campaign, securing the team’s best record since the James Harden era. For his efforts, he was named one of the three finalists for NBA Coach of the Year.
The extension comes a week after the New York Knicks requested to interview Udoka about their own head coaching vacancy, a request that the Rockets denied.
