It happened just before 11 p.m. on Westheimer near the Sam Houston Tollway in West Chase.
Police said a Toyota was leaving a shopping center driveway and tried to cross all four of the westbound lanes to make a left turn in the left lane while an unidentified motorcyclist was going westbound and hit the Toyota driver’s front side.
The impact from that, investigators said, caused the motorcyclist to cross over into oncoming lanes and hit an eastbound Honda. Police said the driver tried to swerve but hit the motorcycle head-on, ejecting the rider from his bike.
HFD paramedics pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene.
The identity of the victim has not been released at this time, but investigators say he was a 28-year-old man.
The Honda driver, meanwhile, was checked at the scene for injuries but would take himself to the hospital instead of being taken via ambulance.
The Toyota driver remained at the scene, did not suffer any injuries, but police don’t believe she was intoxicated and has been cooperative during the investigative process.
