Houston holds public session on new federal disaster relief fund allocation

HOUSTON – The City of Houston is holding a virtual meeting June 17 at 5:30 p.m. to get feedback on its draft action plan for disaster recovery.

Tonight is the final opportunity for the community to voice their opinions on how the city should allocate a significant portion of $314.6 million federal grant towards improving infrastructure and public services.

Houston received the funding after last year’s Derecho and Hurricane Beryl.

What the city does with the money will need to be locally approved and then submitted for federal approval by no later than Sept. 3.
