HOUSTON – A 40-year-old man has been arrested by police after being accused of following a woman into the restroom and using his cell phone to record her underneath a stall at a bar last year.
Edrie Vieyra, 40, is charged with invasive visual recording.

The incident happened on July 22, 2024, at the Bad Astronaut Bar located just north of downtown Houston.
According to court documents, Vieyra followed a woman to a restroom and waited just outside the door when she walked in. When the woman began using the restroom, Vieyra entered and allegedly stuck his phone underneath the stall and began recording her.
The woman screamed as soon as she saw the phone and Vieyra ran away. The woman also said she had never met the man before, according to the documents.
Police were able to obtain surveillance video they say shows Vieyra going into the woman’s restroom followed by him running away shortly afterwards. The woman is also seen in the video not long after, appearing distressed.
Vieyra remains in jail on a $15,000 bond.
