A family is safe but displaced after lightning struck their home during this morning’s storms in the Chimney Hill Subdivision, according to Cy-Fair Fire Department officials.

Fire crews were called out early Wednesday to reports of a house fire. They arrived quickly and managed to get the flames under control before they could spread further.
Inside the home were three adults, a 2-year-old child, and two dogs. All made it out safely. No injuries were reported.
The Red Cross has stepped in to help the family with temporary needs, while investigators with the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office are working to confirm the cause of the fire.
Firefighters believe lightning from the morning’s storms is to blame.
