Brookshire police officer hits 12-year-old riding scooter, investigation underway

A Brookshire police officer hit a 12-year-old boy riding an electric scooter while driving into his subdivision last week, according to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials say the incident happened last Tuesday when Captain Miller with the Brookshire Police Department was driving an unmarked department vehicle and turned into his subdivision. That’s when he hit the child, who was on an electric scooter.

The boy was injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment. His current condition has not been released.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. No other details have been made public at this time.
