A man who barricaded himself in an apartment on Houston’s southside was arrested after officers forced their way in.
Authorities first responded to a disturbance call involving a man and woman. Upon arrival, they spoke with the woman, who was determined to be the victim of an assault by her former boyfriend.

After investigating, officers obtained assistance from the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, which accepted felony assault charges against the man.
Officers believed the suspect was inside the apartment and attempted to make verbal contact, but the suspect refused to comply.
Officers secured the area and made entry into the apartment. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. No injuries were reported to the officers or the suspect.
The two individuals involved are believed to have been in a former dating relationship. The suspect was taken into custody at about 6 a.m. Sunday morning.
