A 23-month-old girl has died after being pulled from a pool at a Galveston home Thursday evening, Galveston police said.
GPD said they were called to a home on Colony Park Circle around 6 p.m. When officers and medical crews arrived, the child’s caretaker had already started lifesaving efforts after finding her unresponsive in the pool.

The toddler was rushed to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, but authorities confirmed she died early Friday morning.
Investigators remained at the home to gather information about the circumstances surrounding the drowning. At this time, police believe it was an accident.
