Officers arrived within minutes and found a man who had been shot on a METRO bus. The man was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Tien says witnesses say two men got into an argument on the bus when one of the men pulled out a pistol and shot the other man. He ran off the bus and fled the scene and was last seen just east of the shooting location near the intersection of W. Bellfort and Center Point Drive.
Law enforcement is actively searching for the suspect, described as a Black male, in his mid-20s or early-30s and approximately six feet tall. He is said to have dreadlocks and was wearing light-colored shorts with blue and white stripes on them along with a black t-shirt.
The victim is believed to be in the same age range. His identity has not yet been confirmed.
Tien says it does not appear the suspect and the victim knew each other. No one else on the bus was hurt.
Tien said he is confident they will be able to figure out who the suspect is and find him and believes with how many people were driving in the area, somebody saw the suspect and what happened. He said if they get any photos or videos of the suspect, they will release them to the public.
Anyone with any information is urged to call Houston Police, METRO PD, or Crime Stoppers.
