A Klein High School student has been expelled and is facing felony charges after being found with a handgun on school grounds.
The incident occurred at the school on Tuesday morning before the start of school.

Klein ISD administration received a report that a student had been threatened by another student. Klein ISD Police and school administrators immediately responded, and a handgun was found in the accused student’s possession.
The student was immediately expelled from Klein ISD and, Harris County District Attorney has accepted felony charges.
In a statement announcing the situation, KHS principal Shannon Strole said the situation was handled before the beginning of the school day.
“The safety and well-being of students and staff are top priorities, and the district will continue to work closely with local law enforcement and school administration to ensure a secure learning environment for all,” a portion of Strole’s letter read.
