The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office says 275 people have been arrested so far, as of Sunday, following a surge in patrols for the annual event.

That total includes 278 misdemeanor charges and 52 felony charges. Authorities have also recovered 42 firearms.

To put that into perspective: just on Saturday, deputies reported 165 misdemeanor charges, 23 felonies, and 30 guns recovered.

Sunday’s numbers reflect a noticeable increase in both arrests and weapons seized.

More than 520 officers from 16 different agencies are now on the ground, along with 30 EMS units, Life Flight support, and vehicle checkpoints set up to manage the crowds and keep things under control.

The sheriff’s office says it’s keeping up the pressure and will maintain an increased presence through Monday morning to ensure public safety.

More updates are expected as the event continues.
