MISSOURI CITY, Texas – After more than a week without a working elevator at Jubilee at Texas Parkway, management at the independent senior living complex has released a new statement addressing growing resident concerns and providing a clearer repair timeline.

A spokesperson for Jubilee at Texas Parkway said the facility has been working around the clock to resolve the elevator outage, which has left several senior residents confined to their apartments.

The facility confirmed that new parts for one of the two elevators have been ordered and are expected to arrive within five to seven days, with repairs beginning immediately after delivery.

“For elevator two, the required parts have been ordered but are currently backordered,” the statement read. “We are monitoring the situation closely and will begin those repairs as soon as they arrive.”

In the meantime, the facility says it has implemented several interim support measures. Staff are conducting daily wellness checks, assisting residents with groceries and transportation, and remaining on call to address any other urgent needs.

The update comes after increasing pressure from residents and their families, who expressed frustration with the prolonged outage and lack of information. Photos shared with KPRC 2 previously showed bagged meals being delivered to residents unable to leave their units, and several residents told KPRC 2 they felt stranded or unsafe navigating stairs.

Jubilee at Texas Parkway is classified as an independent senior living facility, which exempts it from the stricter regulations applied to assisted living and nursing homes.

Still, management insists they are taking the issue seriously.

“Our residents’ safety and well-being are our top priority,” the spokesperson said.

It remains to be seen whether the promised timeline will hold, but for now, residents are hopeful the long-awaited repairs are finally in sight.

Jubilee at Texas Parkway released the following statement:

“At Jubilee at Texas Parkway, our residents’ safety and well-being are our top priority. We have been actively working around the clock to restore both elevators, and after multiple days of troubleshooting shooting we have confirmed the new parts that are needed and they have been placed on order to arrive within five to seven days.

“Repairs will begin immediately upon arrival. For elevator two, the required parts have been ordered but are currently backordered. We are monitoring the situation closely and will begin those repairs as soon as they arrive.

“In the meantime, our staff is continuing to conduct daily wellness checks, assisting with groceries, helping arrange transportation, and is on call for any additional needs.”
