HOUSTON – It’s been just over a decade since a mother of three was beaten and shot inside her southeast Houston home, and the person responsible has never been caught.
The body of 43-year-old Angela Wafer was discovered around 8 a.m. on May 8, 2015, by her 13-year-old son. She was found on the floor of her bedroom inside her home near the intersection of Belneath Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard.
Monday, Wafer’s family and Houston Police Department detectives gathered at Crime Stoppers of Houston, once again calling on the public to come forward with any information about her murder.
“She was just a bright, loving person, with a bright personality, always smiling,” said Charlene Wafer Washington, Angela’s sister.
Detectives said there were no signs of forced entry at the home, leading investigators to believe Angela may have known her killer or that the person had a key. Wafer was hit in the head with a blunt object and then shot.
“I’m calling on the public today. Someone out there may have a piece of this puzzle. It may seem insignificant to them, but it could be what we need to complete the picture and identify who did this,” said HPD Detective Ramon Cervantes.

Investigators would not comment on specific evidence they have, saying there are certain details they don’t want the killer to know.
Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the case. Anyone with details is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
Angela’s family says they will not give up until justice is served.
