HOUSTON – Investigators were working to determine what caused a deadly crash on the Eastex Freeway.
Deputies said a driver lost control of a pickup truck, hit a barrier wall and it caught fire on the Eastex Freeway at Green Street at about 10 p.m. Friday.

The passenger died on the scene. Their identity had not been released.
The driver was taken to the hospital for treatment. Their condition was unknown.
