The shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. on January 19 in the parking lot of a club at 8811 Westheimer Road.
Police say a fight broke out between two groups of men and quickly escalated into gunfire. When the bullets stopped flying, 23-year-old Deon Robinson had been shot and died at the scene.
Another man, 22-year-old Daqualaun Chandler, was also hit. He managed to get into a vehicle and drive off, but crashed a short distance away on Westheimer. Paramedics rushed him to the hospital with injuries that weren’t life-threatening.
Chandler has since been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and driving while intoxicated.
The two suspects seen running in the surveillance footage are described only as Black men in their 20s. Detectives are hoping someone can help identify them.
If you recognize the individuals or have any information that could help with the investigation, you’re urged to contact HPD Homicide or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
