A major crash involving hazardous material has shut down the northbound lanes of the Hardy Toll Road near Rankin Road.

One person was taken to the hospital, but their name hasn’t been released. Fortunately, no life-threatening injuries have been reported. A heavy-duty wrecker is on the way to remove the truck involved.

Deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office are investigating after a vehicle rolled over Saturday morning. As of 2:30 p.m., Officials tell KPRC 2 the northbound lanes will be closed for about an hour and a half.

Traffic is being forced to exit at Beltway 8, and drivers should expect heavy delays. The southbound lanes are also closed today for the Ironman event.

Emergency crews are still on the scene. Officials are asking everyone to avoid the area if they can and use an alternate route.
