UH campus lighting project expected to be completed by end of year

HOUSTON – The University of Houston has provided an update on the expected timeline for the completion of a project to improve lighting on campus.

The project is meant to help both improve lighting and security across the campus and will include LED lighting conversions, installation of additional cameras, emergency call boxes, and security signage, according to the university.

Wednesday, the university provided an update on the expedited timeline of the $18 million project and said the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

Several lots are considered priority lots and have an estimated completion time of Nov. 2025. These lots include lots 3A, 3B, 4A, 6A. These are considered student housing lots.

Additional lots, including lots 12A, 15H, 16B/C/D/F/E, 21 A/B, are estimated to be completed by Dec. 2025.
