A construction worker was rescued after falling into a 20-foot trench in north Harris County. It happened at the 3000 block of Treaschwig Road and Aldine Westfield Road.

Authorities say the worker, who is awake and breathing, received immediate attention from emergency medical services and fire crews on the scene.

The incident led to the closure of eastbound lanes from Aldine Westfield Road to Treaschwig Road as emergency crews worked to secure the area.
