One killed in shooting in SE Houston involving car that crashed into house

One person has been killed in a shooting that caused a car to crash into the side of a house.

The situation was reported at 2:23 p.m. Monday afternoon in the 9600 block of Intervale Street in southeast Houston. Houston Police Department first reported that someone was killed by gunfire, and nobody is in custody at this time.

HPD officials could not provide information on the motive of the shooting or the identities of those involved. However, the victim was later confirmed to be male.

On Tuesday, authorities released more information regarding the shooting. Homicide detectives say that the shooting happened at a nearby apartment complex, located at 9800 Hollock Street.

After being shot, the victim managed to drive his car to Intervale Street, where it collided with a house and someone called 9-1-1. When paramedics arrived, the man was found unresponsive in the driver’s seat. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
