What happened?

Authorities say the victim was walking to his Dodge Charger in a parking lot on the 4400 block of Emancipation around 3:35 a.m. when he was approached by a large group of men. They claimed they wanted to use his car for a music video, but when the victim refused, the situation quickly escalated.

The men pulled out guns and demanded the victim’s belongings, including his car keys. In a chilling moment, one of the suspects pressed a gun to the victim’s head and pulled the trigger several times, but the gun didn’t fire.

Fortunately, the vehicle was found two days later in Louisiana. Baton Rouge police officers tried to pull the car over for a traffic violation, but the suspects led them on a chase. Two men were arrested during the pursuit, and they are now part of the ongoing investigation into the carjacking.

Social media post may help identify additional suspects

In a twist, a follow-up investigation led to a social media post that could help identify more suspects. The post shows two additional men in possession of stolen items from the car. One of the suspects is wearing the victim’s stolen watch, while the other is holding a “Chucky” doll, which was also in the car at the time of the robbery.
