WANTED: Man accused of killing woman found in SW Houston apartment still at large

Houston police have charged a 26-year-old man with murder in the fatal shooting of Kenia Guardado-Molina, a 27-year-old woman found dead in her southwest Houston apartment on October 1, 2024.

Camilo Ayala is still on the run, and police are asking for the public’s help to find him.

Ayala is also facing separate charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman at a club on June 14, 2024.

What happened?

According to the Houston Police Department, Guardado-Molina’s family became concerned when they hadn’t heard from her and learned she had failed to pick up her child from the babysitter.

On the morning of October 1, family members entered her apartment at Forum Park Drive, where they discovered her deceased from at least one gunshot wound.

Authorities released surveillance footage showing a man, later identified as Ayala, walking with Guardado-Molina toward her apartment the morning before she was found dead. Police are urging anyone with information about Ayala’s whereabouts to come forward.
