As deadly wildfires burn throughout parts of Southern California, local rapper Trae Tha Truth is out lending a helping hand, offering support to first responders and victims burned out of their homes.

These are some of the images Trae sent KPRC 2′s Deven Clarke from Altadena and Pasadena.

Much of the area is reduced to ash. Trae isn’t only visiting the areas that burned, earlier Friday, he bought 300 burgers and gave them out at a shelter where some of the victims are now staying.

“It’s heartbreaking with so many houses. The only thing you have, just the floors that you know, also the thing that’s within the house. But the weird thing is about sometimes it skips over the house and then you see three other houses burnt down that one house. So it’s either moving all around and such as down there or Pasadena, you know, even just the surrounding areas. We came with blankets, clothes, toiletries, hygiene,” Trae said.

Trae said he saw the National Guard on scene as well as other people doing what they can to help. He spoke about why he went to California to help.

“When we go through the things that we go through, whether it be hurricane, flood and anything, people always come together to stand with us. So it’s only right, you know, because it’s hard. I can’t be a 24/7, but I can pop in and out to make sure we make an impact.”
