“We are a city of overcomers, it is not a matter of forgetting, we’ve had a tragic event, but we are overcomers,” said New Orleans Police Department Superintendent Anne Fitzpatrick who was out on Bourbon Street Thursday evening.

Minus the large law enforcement presence, Thursday felt like another day on New Orleans’ most famous street. However, signs of the deadly act which took place the day before remain.

Several growing memorials could be seen lining the street in honor of those killed in the deadly attack.

The memorials consisted of flowers, stuffed animals, and lit candles. On one of the memorials was a list of some of the victims.
