HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Federal and local law enforcement agencies are at a property in north Harris County conducting activity they say is connected to the investigation into the attack in New Orleans New Year’s Day.
FBI Houston says they along with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office are near the intersection of Hugh Road and Crescent Peak Drive.
Authorities have created a perimeter and are asking people to avoid the area.
KPRC 2 witnessed a SWAT team showing up at the property. At least four kids and five adults were seen being brought out of a house at a neighboring property.

Not long afterwards, a man was seen coming out of a house with his hands up as officers had guns drawn. He appears to have been taken into custody.
Public records list the address of the home as the place where the suspect in the attack in New Orleans lived.
The FBI says personnel and specialized teams will be on-site for several hours.
While they confirmed the activity is connected to the investigation into the New Orleans attack, they could not provide further information due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.
Around 9 p.m., FBI Houston provided another statement saying they are continuing a court-authorized search of the location:
FBI Houston and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office are continuing a court-authorized search of a location near the intersection of Hugh Road and Crescent Peak Drive. At this time, no arrests have been made and FBI personnel will be at the scene for several more hours. We are asking members of the public to continue to avoid the area and a temporary flight restriction has been implemented. Throughout this operation, we have deployed specialized teams including our FBI SWAT team, Crisis Negotiators, Special Agent Bomb Technicians, Tactical Operations Center, Evidence Response Team, and a group of counterterrorism investigators. We are grateful for the substantial assistance provided by our partners at the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the Houston Police Department, and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
