Teen shot multiple times during attempted carjacking at NE Houston park

A 17-year-old boy has been transported to a nearby hospital after being shot several times in an attempted carjacking in northeast Houston.

The shooting was reported at around 1:50 p.m.

The victim was reportedly shot during an altercation with the suspect at Gerber Park and then drove several streets over to Mt. Houston Road, near the Eastex Freeway.

According to sources with Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the teen was rushed to a nearby hospital.

The circumstances and events that led to the shooting are not clear.

Sources told KPRC 2′s Deven Clarke that the teen is in surgery at this time, but he is expected to survive.
