A mother is speaking out after her daughter and granddaughter were tragically killed early Friday morning in West Houston.

Police say the suspect — the victims' brother and uncle — is in custody and being questioned about the deaths.
Joanna Fisher, the mother of both the suspect and one of the victims, says she believes her son’s actions were fueled by drugs.
“His so-called friends got him on some fake weed,” Fisher said, her voice filled with pain. “He came home on a rampage. I had to put him out.”

A shocking discovery
It all started just before 3 a.m. at an apartment complex on Richmond Avenue near Westminster Plaza Drive. Police say a family member flagged them down, reporting a disturbance.
When officers arrived, they found blood at the scene and a man with blood on him. That man, now identified as the brother of the victim, was taken into custody.
Inside the apartment, police found the bodies of a woman, believed to be in her late 20s, and her young daughter, who was just a toddler.
A mother’s plea
Fisher says this tragedy could have been avoided. She told KPRC 2 that she had gone to the police for help in the past, filing reports about family violence and pleading for intervention.
“ I got paperwork,” Fisher said. “Family violence...we did all this paperwork.”
Fisher also shared that her son had recently been released from prison.

As of now, Houston police say they’re still piecing everything together.
No charges have been filed yet, and investigators are working to figure out exactly what happened and why.
