Man shot during altercation with officers outside Cy-Fair ISD administration building

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – An investigation is underway after a man was shot during a fight involving Cy-Fair ISD police officers in a parking lot.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the call dropped at 10:19 a.m. Sunday. The incident happened outside the Cy-Fair ISD Windfern Annex on Windfern Rd. and Perry Rd.

A Cy-Fair officer witnessed a car lose control and crash in the parking lot of the administration building. When the officer investigated the situation, the agitated driver attacked him, and a fight broke out between the two. A second vehicle also stopped at the scene and got involved in the skirmish.

During the altercation, an HCSO deputy drove by and saw Cy-Fair ISD officers fighting with the man. Shots were fired, and the man was injured.

HCSO says the man was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive. The HCSO officer was also transported to a hospital with minor injuries as a precaution. The other individual who stopped and got involved was treated by EMS officials and released.

KPRC 2 has reached out to the district for a statement but has not heard back yet.
