The dog was found around 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon on the southbound lanes of I-45, just south of College Park Dr. in The Woodlands. Several drivers stopped and tried to lead the animal off the busy road, but the scared dog crawled under a pickup truck and refused to come out.

Officials with The Woodlands Fire Department and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office blocked off traffic until the animal shelter reached the scene and corral the pup.

After the rescue, the dog was transported to the Montgomery County Animal Shelter.

She will be available for adoption soon if an owner doesn’t come forward. Her shelter ID is A406347.
