Two innocent bystanders hit in SE Houston road rage shooting

HOUSTON – Houston police are searching for two individuals connected to a shooting that injured innocent bystanders in a southeast Houston park.

The shooting happened Saturday, just after 9 p.m., at Gragg Park, located near South Wayside Drive and Brock Street.

According to Lt. Riley with the Houston Police Department, two trucks came into Gragg Park’s parking lot at a high rate of speed. “Based on witness statements, there were two trucks that pulled into the parking lot at a high rate of speed and were engaged in a road rage incident.” People in both trucks exchanged gunfire and quickly left the area, Lt. Riley told KPRC 2.

During the shooting, two innocent bystanders in the parking lot were struck by gunfire. One person was shot in the leg, and the other was shot in the torso. They were both listed in stable condition, according to Houston police.

The injured bystanders drove themselves home and called 9-1-1, according to Lt. Riley.

Additionally, another vehicle in the parking lot was hit by bullets.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact 9-1-1.
