Resources to protect yourself from stalking, harassment and domestic violence

HOUSTON – As KPRC 2 continues to follow the investigations into two recent shooting deaths involving female college students, we are checking in with local resources that specialize in issues related to stalking, harassment, and domestic violence.

On Monday night, the Houston Police Department stated officers found the body of 21-year-old Muna Pandey, a Houston Community College student who was shot several times inside her southwest Houston apartment.

A suspect believed to be involved in her death was later arrested during a traffic stop. A motive in her death has not been released. During the search for the suspect, hiss image was captured on Pandey’s security camera and her friends said they’ve never seen him before.

Earlier this week, Rice University student Andrea Rodriguez Avila was also shot and killed in an apparent murder-suicide inside her dorm room. Investigators believe she may have been in a relationship with the shooter.

On Thursday, KPRC 2 anchor Lisa Hernandez spoke with advocates about what people can do to protect themselves and the people in their lives.
