Man fatally shot by girlfriend’s co-worker at west Houston apartment complex, HPD says

An investigation is underway after police said a man was shot and killed by his girlfriend’s male co-worker at an apartment complex in west Houston Thursday.

HOUSTON – An investigation is underway after police said a man was shot and killed by his girlfriend’s male co-worker at an apartment complex in west Houston Thursday.

Officers with the Houston Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex located at 12401 Overbrook Ln. around 10:10 p.m.

Police said when they arrived at the scene, they found a man dead with gunshot wounds.

According to investigators, a woman and her 5-year-old child live at the apartment complex.

Officers said the woman’s co-worker was at the apartment when her boyfriend arrived and confronted the co-worker.

An argument ensued and the co-worker pulled out a handgun, firing at least four times, investigators said. The suspect then fled the scene.

Police said no one else was injured in the incident.

The HPD Homicide Unit is handling the investigation.
