HOUSTON – A man in his 60s was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds outside his apartment in northeast Houston, police say.
It happened at an apartment complex in the 3800 block of Wipprecht Street near Collingsworth Street in the Kashmere Gardens area.

Police were dispatched to the scene around 7 a.m. When they arrived, residents reported hearing gunshots in the area, but claim they did not see anything.
A man who appeared to have been shot multiple times was found lying on the ground. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Residents say the victim was a longtime resident at the complex.
“I stress to these people we’re on the same team. They want answers because they know this guy,” Officer Kyle Heaverlow with Houston Police said. “He’s lived in the area a long time, everybody liked him. They want justice for his family and I said, ‘hey, we want justice too.’”
Police say the apartment complex has security cameras, but they aren’t sure if they work.
Per protocol, police will not release the victim’s identify until next of kin is notified.
A description of the suspect(s) has not been provided, and it was unclear if the suspect(s) fled in a vehicle or on foot.
