The incident happened on Saturday, around 1 p.m., when law enforcement received a concerning call from Loredo’s 11-year-old son.
The boy told dispatchers that his mother believed he was the devil and was currently burning the family dogs.
Deputies responded to Loredo’s home, located on Highway 64 just west of Henderson.
While on the way, they received another call from the home next to Loredo’s saying a woman had just shown up at their home with blood on her hands, claiming her parents had been killed. Law enforcement have not confirmed whether this claim was actually true.
Deputies arrived and Loredo was detained. They then discovered the burned remains of dogs in a fire burning in front of Loredo’s home.
Loredo was arrested and charged with two counts of cruelty to non-livestock animals. She was also charged with four counts of endangering a child because four minors between the ages of one and 11 were found to be in her care in a vehicle at the time of her arrest.
Her bond has been set at $400,000.
