The excitement continues on Day 9 of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and today is extra special! It’s Community Day, meaning everyone gets in FREE until noon.
From families to first-timers, it’s a fantastic opportunity to experience all the rodeo has to offer without the cost of admission. KPRC 2′s Cathy Hernandez is live at NRG Park this morning, giving us the scoop on how families can take full advantage of today’s offerings.
This special day is all about making sure families of all sizes get a chance to enjoy the fun at the rodeo. From the thrilling carnival rides and Agventure to shopping and indulging in delicious food, there’s something for everyone.
Discounts and deals
Not only do you get in free until noon, but there are also some fantastic discounts available. From now until 4 p.m. at the Junction, you can enjoy a buy-one-get-one-free offer on rides and games. And when it comes to food, a mini corn dog, mini popcorn, or a small sour apple lemonade is only $3 each. It’s a perfect way to make the most of Community Day without breaking the bank!

Every Wednesday during the rodeo, seniors 60 and older and children under 12 get in free until noon. But today, it’s everyone—so don’t miss out on the fun and savings.
Daily recurring rodeo events
Throughout the day, visitors can explore a variety of exhibitions, activities, and attractions across NRG Park:
- AGVENTURE, presented by OXY (9 a.m. – 9 p.m.): Birthing Center, Petting Zoo, Milking Parlor Demonstrations, and more.
- Virtual Chuckwagons, sponsored by Verizon (9 a.m. – 9 p.m.).
- Champion Wine Garden, presented by Frost (Opens at 2 p.m.).
- The Junction: Featuring Mutton Bustin’ (every hour, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.), Pig Races, and Fun on the Farm.
- Carnival, presented by First Community (Opens at 11 a.m.).
- Shopping & Dining at NRG Arena, NRG Center & NRG Park (10 a.m. – 9 p.m.).
