Houston’s largest Japanese culture festival is returning to downtown’s George R. Brown Convention Center for its 16th year.

Anime Matsuri is taking place for four days from July 28-30, bringing back programming and events for all ages.

The convention will bring back their popular concert series featuring K-Pop supergroup DREAMCATCHER on Thursday, July 28, followed by Japan superstar group ‘NOT EQUAL ME’ on Friday, July 29. There are a limited number of upgrades available for both concerts.

Returning this year is the well-acclaimed “Sumo Slam” competition, where sumo wrestlers take the dojo all weekend during the convention.

Guests can also purchase food from a variety of diverse food trucks, buy items and gear from visiting vendors, and take photos with cosplayers in and out of the convention center.
