Light showers will occur ahead of the front in the morning, and by the afternoon, there is a chance for a few strong to severe storms.

The threat for most in SE Texas is 1 out of 5. However, if you live in Trinity, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto, Walker, and Northern Liberty counties, you have a better chance of seeing storms—with a threat level of 2 out of 5.
SE Texas storms’ may produce damaging wind gusts. The best threat for tornadoes stays out of our area. Instead Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee see the best chance for tornadic activity.
Timeline:
7 AM - 10 AM: Scattered showers
12 PM - 2 PM: Scattered showers with thunderstorms developing north of Harris County
3 PM - 5PM: Best chance for strong to severe thunderstorms. The line will continue to move east and by 6 PM the severe threat should begin to ease with showers lingering near the coast.
Behind the cold front - temperatures dip to the 50s.

If you weren’t a fan of this week’s chilly temperatures, you won’t like next week’s temperature outlook. Be prepared to bundle up late next week. A surge of Arctic air may reach SE Texas, dragging morning temperatures below freezing with highs only in the 40s.
