HOUSTON – The Palm Houston, perched in downtown near Toyota Center and Daikin Park, is the place to go this season for classic steakhouse fare with an Italian twist.
A Houston classic with NYC roots
The Palm began in New York City in the 1920s, landed in Houston in 1978 and has become a beloved downtown tradition — famous for the caricatures that line its walls and for treating every guest like a VIP.
Menu highlights: prime rib, lobster and classic carrot cake
This year the restaurant is preparing to celebrate the brand’s 100th anniversary in 2026.
To kick off the celebrations, The Palm will offer a special January anniversary plate — chicken parmigiana for $19.26 — a nod to the 1926 NYC location founding.
In the meantime, November guests can enjoy a featured prime‑rib special that’s ideal for holiday gatherings, plus whole lobsters (order the big one anytime), classic sides and the restaurant’s original carrot cake for dessert.
Concept Executive Chef Andreas Seidel “Chef Andy” joins Houston Life for Landry’s Chef Series to talk food and demo one of The Palm’s signature dishes: the chicken parmigiana.

Meet the chef behind the dishes
Born and raised in Munich, Seidel began his culinary career at 15, traveled across Europe, trained with top chefs in New York City and credits early mentors for grounding him in classic French technique. His favorite dish to cook remains Wiener schnitzel, but at The Palm he channels his European training into steaks, seafood and timeless house favorites.
