Houston – Forget the cocktails and bar tabs—Reverse Happy Hour is here to shake up your work routine in the healthiest way possible.
Co-founders Gary Jendkins and Ricky Ashton introduced their Houston-based wellness company that’s bringing strength, focus, and stress relief to workplaces across the city. The twist? Instead of heading to happy hour to unwind, employees roll out yoga mats and dive into stress-busting workouts that build both strength and friendship inside or outside of the workplace.
The idea was born during the pandemic when gyms shut down and people everywhere were desperate for connection and an outlet for stress. Gary and Ricky, lifelong friends and gym buddies, pivoted quickly—hosting virtual group workouts with strangers who, over time, became close friends. Inspired by this surprising sense of community, they launched Reverse Happy Hour with a simple goal: to help companies redefine workplace wellness.
Reverse Happy Hour sessions aren’t your typical fitness classes—they’re built around team-building, light competition, and a lot of fun. Whether it’s yoga in a conference room or a game-based workout challenge in the breakroom, their programs focus on boosting morale, reducing stress, and encouraging real human connection.
Houston Life co-hosts Derrick and Tessa even got in on the action with a playful in-studio competition—proving that fitness at work doesn’t have to be boring. Watch their full interview in the video player above.
