Voters headed to the polls Tuesday, May 26, 2026, for the Texas Primary Runoff Elections to decide several remaining races in Harris County and across Texas after no candidate secured the required majority vote during the March primary election.
Runoff elections determine each party’s final nominee for races in which no candidate received more than 50% of the vote in the March 3 primary.
Polling places were open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, while early voting for the runoff election was held May 16–22.
Voters who participated in one party’s primary election in March were required to vote in the same party’s runoff election, according to Texas election law.
