A cold front is moving through the Houston area Wednesday night. This front will stall along the coast and provide the focus for more rain Thursday morning. No severe weather is expected but there will be a few passing showers.
Friday, first street flooding threat:
Friday morning kicks off with another disturbance, bringing rain to the area.
Late Friday afternoon into evening looks to be the main event, as stronger storms are expected to develop along the front. This is when street flooding is most likely to happen, especially if storms stall over any given location. Because the storms are created by a small area of low pressure called a disturbance the timing and placement is hard to pinpoint. Stay tuned for timing updates.
Saturday’s street flooding threat:
Saturday brings yet another wave, smaller in area but possibly slow-moving, which could continue the threat for spotty flooding.
Mother’s Day Sunday:
By Sunday, most of the rain should move out, leaving only a small chance for leftover showers in the morning.
10 Day Forecast:
Past Sunday the early part of next week looks dry with warm temperatures.
