Road to Final Four: Houston has limited time to beat weekend storms

What’s the best day to leave?

Rain possible along I-10 this weekend

Wet weather is still a part of Mother Nature’s game plan this weekend. The rain may make for an inconvenient road trip to San Antonio for the Final Four games, depending on what time you leave.

A cold front will move from west to east along I-10 starting late Friday through Saturday. Some storms have the threat of turning severe Saturday. Make sure you have a way to receive alerts.

Storms and showers along I-10
  • Friday: It’s mostly dry on I-10 heading west. If you arrive late Friday night, you may encounter a few showers as you approach San Antonio.
  • Saturday: If you plan to leave Houston on Saturday morning, your ride will seem easygoing until you approach San Antonio, when you may meet showers and a few thunderstorms. If you leave in the afternoon from Houston, you will run into showers and storms as you start your engine to head out of town.
