ROSENBERG, Texas – Texas EquuSearch ended the search Saturday morning for a 75-year-old man who was last seen in Rosenberg. Officials said the body of Benito Gutierrez was found in the Brazos River a short time after beginning their search. Volunteers with Texas Equusearch conducted a search near the Brazos River and U.S. Highway 59. Gutierrez was last seen alive Thursday. After the discovery of his body, Texas Equusearch posted an update saying “we ask that everyone please keep Benito Gutierrez’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this tragic times in their lives.”

Authorities are searching for a 27-year-old man who has been missing since Nov. 26, 2020. Zada Mahamadou Zada may have been seen in Houston Thursday, Jan. 28, according to Texas EquuSearch. The organization received a tip Zada was spotted on Westpark Drive and Southwest Freeway. Zada is described as a Black male with a slim build standing 6 feet tall and weighing 150 pounds. Nathan Heathco, 22, was last seen walking on FM 1409 in Liberty County, Texas Equusearch said. DAYTON, Texas – A fisherman found the body of a missing man Sunday near the Trinity River in Liberty County, deputies said. The man’s body was found not far from where crews were searching for him. Heathco was last seen walking on FM 1409 in Liberty County on Jan. 12, according to a spokesman for Texas Equusearch. Officials said they believe Heathco may have been injured in a vehicle crash prior to his disappearance.

HOUSTON – Texas EquuSearch is calling off the search Monday for a woman who went missing over the weekend. Read was reported missing after her 1-year-old son, Xayden, was found alone in a vehicle, Texas EquuSearch said. A representative of Texas EquuSearch said Read’s child was found alone in a vehicle in Midtown, just outside a Dollar Tree.

LIBERTY, Texas – Texas Equuesearch and Liberty County sheriff’s deputies are searching for a 22-year-old Liberty County man who they said has been missing since Tuesday. Texas Equusearch said they will be in need of volunteers to search on foot. The search staging location will be at the Liberty County ESD #3 Volunteer Fire Department, which is located at 8704 FM 1409 in Dayton, Texas. The lawsuit came after yet another decades old mix-up with his daughter’s remains was discovered. Miller first sued Galveston County in 1997 when Laura’s body was exhumed and it was discovered not all of her remains had been buried. Miller said he then received a October 2019 from the Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office, notifying him human remains were found in a file box bearing the case number for Laura’s murder.

HOUSTON – Officials continue to search for a missing 19-year-old Houston man who was last seen on Aug. 8, according to Texas EquuSearch. Javonta Boxley was last seen in southeast Houston and his vehicle was found abandoned near Manvel, Texas, officials said. Boxley’s mother, Toya, mentioned that when he left, he was severely depressed. Texas Equusearch activated ground search in Brazoria County after the abandoned car was recovered, but he is still missing. HOUSTON – A small, makeshift memorial of balloons, flowers and candles could be seen Monday outside the southwest Houston apartment where 2-year-old Maliyah Bass lived. Neighbors who live there were not happy to see Maliyah’s mother and boyfriend return to the property with Houston activist Quanell X. Quanell X met with Maliyah’s mother and boyfriend inside their apartment and said the couple’s story left him with a lot of questions. In 2019, Quanell X helped to bring 4-year-old Maleah Davis’ body from Arkansas back to Houston. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences said they are still working to positively identify the child’s body, though police say it’s a high probability it is Maliyah’s body.

FORT HOOD, Texas – The U.S. Army is asking for the public’s help in a search for another missing soldier in Texas. Fort Hood officials issued a missing soldier alert Thursday night for Sgt. Gregory Morales, 24, a Fort Hood soldier who was reported missing on Aug. 20, 2019. Vanessa Guillén, 20, a Fort Hood soldier who had been missing since April. Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy has commented that Fort Hood has one of the highest rates of murder, sexual assault and harassment in the Army.

LIBERTY COUNTY, Texas – Texas EquuSearch will intensify efforts to find a Liberty County man who's been missing since May 25, the same day his house burned to the ground. Clint William Miller, 26, was last seen in the Moss Bluff area of Liberty County. Volunteers with EquuSearch will gather Friday a 9 a.m. to continue the search.
