The Houston Police Department has launched a new dashboard to address and track the progress of over 264,000 suspended cases across various divisions, including Special Victims and Homicide.

KPRC 2 Investigates confirmed though multiple sources that Houston Police Department Assistant Chief Milton Wyatt Martin (AC), who oversees the Professional Standards Command of HPD, including the Internal Affairs Division, is no longer on the Executive Team.

Wednesday morning, the Houston Police Department presented a report before Houston City Council on the controversial code that suspended more than 260,000 cases.

“There are real victims in the public that were affected by this,” acting police chief Larry Satterwhite said in his opening statements. He also made it very clear to all at City Hall the code practice was, “a bad policy enacted in our department.”

In a June 18 report, Mayor Whitmire told KPRC 2 Investigates Mario Diaz the Internal Investigation would be completed July 1. However, in a phone call this morning, the mayor said it would be "a few more days."
