HOUSTON – Houston police released photos on Friday of two people charged in a shooting at a Midtown bar Oct. 20 that left three aspiring rappers dead and another man injured. According to a security guard at the club, there were two shooters. The security guard told investigators he had never seen the suspects before and searched them before they entered the club, police said. The security guard said the suspects didn’t have any weapons on them, so he believes they snuck the guns into the club. Further investigation led to the identities of Williams and Hall as suspects in this case and they were charged on Tuesday.

Police said the shooting happened in the 1200 block of Webster around 10:06 p.m. Police said they are questioning a person of interest that fits the description the woman gave OnStar. The other woman that was in the car was sleeping when the shooting happened, police said.

HOUSTON – People who live, work and play in Midtown Houston are wondering when construction on a beloved neighborhood park will finally be complete. The 30,000 square foot Bagby Park along Gray Street was partially closed for renovations in June 2019. According to a June 2019 blog post on the Midtown Redevelopment Authority (MRA) website, the upgrades would be complete in Fall 2019. In a recent post to the neighborhood social media app, Nextdoor, one woman opened a thread on the topic with, “we want Bagby Park REOPENED.” Other neighbors chiming in on the lack of information about why the renovations were delayed. For public safety purposes, public access is restricted from the areas of the park which are undergoing active construction.

HOUSTON – A man was shot with a rifle during a robbery outside a Midtown apartment complex on Monday, according to Houston police. The incident happened around 7 p.m. outside the Dolce Midtown apartment complex’s leasing office. Police said the man was walking out of the apartment building when one of the suspects pulled out a rifle and shot him and then fled in a dark-colored vehicle. The man was taken to an urgent care nearby and then transported to a hospital where he is expected to survive, police said. The description of the suspects has not been released.

Officers said the incident happened near Fannin and McGowen streets around 1:15 a.m. According to investigators, the victim called his friends and told them he had gotten shot. HOUSTON – A man was hospitalized after he was shot in the face during a road rage incident on Highway 59 near Midtown Friday, according to Houston police. The incident happened around 9:30 a.m. at the Highway 59 exit ramp to Highway 288 South, police said. Officers said the road rage incident lasted about 10 minutes with both drivers using their vehicles as weapons to hit each other. Police said the suspected shooter and one other person were taken into custody. The truck the suspected shooter was in had a tailgate branded with the company name JJ AC and Heating.
