HOUSTON – KPRC 2 Investigates has broken down the numbers of ICE arrests, which is data obtained by the Deportation Project through an on-going FOIA lawsuit against ICE.
This data contains ICE arrests only and does not include arrests made by other agencies. The data range is Sept. 1, 2023 through Oct. 15, 2025.

These numbers compare the total number of ICE arrests made during the last 16-months of President Joe Biden’s Administration to the first 10 months of President Donald Trump’s Administration.
By the numbers:
National ICE arrests
- Total arrets under Biden: 151, 310
- Total arrests under Trump: 225,757
Texas ICE arrests
- Total arrests in Texas under Biden: 30,338
- Total arrests in Texas under Trump: 50,692
Houston-area ICE arrests
- Arrests in Houston-area under Biden: 13,335
- Arrests in Houston-area under Trump: 17,524
By the numbers: Criminal convictions
Under the Biden administration:
- 76,520 of those arrested had criminal convictions
- 32,572 of those arrested had pending criminal charges
- 42, 218 of those arrested had immigration violations
Under the Trump Administration:
- 83,505 had criminal convictions
- 67,366 had pending criminal charges
- 74,886 had immigration violations
The below percentages are based on national numbers across both administrations.
By the numbers: Gender
- 87% of those arrested are male
- 12% of those arrested are female
Roughly 1% of the records were blank in the gender column.
By the numbers: Countries
- 38.5% of those arrested are from Mexico
- 12.8% of those arrested are from Guatemala
- 10.9% of those arrested are from Honduras
- 5.8% of those arrested are from Venezuela
- 4.5% of those arrested are from El Salvador
The remaining arrests are people from dozens of other countries.
By the numbers: Case status
The below numbers are “case status” of arrests made during the Trump administration (225,757):
- Voluntary Departure Confirmed: 23,105
- Deported/Removed: 23,335
- Cases still active: 73,564
- Excluded/Removed-Inadmissibility: 89,133
The remaining cases involves cases that were terminated, the person was granted relief, the person withdrew their application to remain in the U.S., volunteered to return to their home country, died or removed from the U.S. under a different status category.
