Police said when they entered the apartment, they found a man dead and another still alive but injured, both suffering from gunshot wounds.

The injured man was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.

KPRC 2’s Bryce Newberry spoke with an eyewitness at the scene who said he heard three gunshots and looked outside of his apartment to see masked men, in all black, running to a Mercedes getaway car.

“I was shook,” witness Sebastian Lam said. “That kind of stuff doesn’t happen here. So, seeing a shooting and a few guys running, we were shook, so we called the cops because we didn’t know what to do.”

Investigators learned that three men used a large piece of concrete to break the door down. The man, who lived in the apartment, got a gun and shot at them. The third suspect ran away and got into the getaway car.

Investigators also found a large amount of marijuana and THC inside the apartment. This incident appears to be targeted for a narcotics rip, police said.

The man who lives at the apartment is being questioned by investigators. It is unknown if he will face any charges for the shooting or the drugs at the residence.

The search for the third suspect is still underway.
