More than 50 volunteers will hand out boxes of non-perishable food, working alongside Salvation Army staff to ensure families who are struggling have extra support during the holidays.

“The resources provided by our partners will help us reach families who are feeling the effects of inflation, stagnant wages, and other challenges,” Capt. Jeremy Walker of the Salvation Army said. “These box meals and gift cards can really offer relief, especially for children at home during the holidays.”

According to the Salvation Army, the organization has been helping families in Houston and the surrounding counties for more than 130 years, providing everything from emergency shelters and social services to youth programs and rehabilitation.
