Texans getting their SNAP benefits today: What to know about November payments

HOUSTON – Many Texans will see their SNAP food benefits hit their Lone Star Cards starting Friday.

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission says full November SNAP benefits will be issued today for clients who normally receive their monthly amount on or after the 14th.

Some Texans already received partial benefits earlier this month. HHSC says those households will receive the remainder of their November amount beginning Nov. 14.

Here’s what you need to know:

When will I get my full SNAP benefits?

  • If your normal issuance date falls on or after the 14th of the month, you’ll get your full November benefits on that regular date.
  • If you only received partial benefits earlier in November, you will receive the rest starting Nov. 14.

How can I check my Lone Star Card balance?

You can:

  • Visit the Your Texas Benefits website
  • Use the Your Texas Benefits mobile app
  • Call the Lone Star Help Desk at 800-777-7328

Will I get benefits in November if I was recently approved?

Yes. Texans who were recently approved for SNAP will still receive their November benefits.

Do I still need to report changes or renew my benefits?

Yes. HHSC says SNAP clients must continue reporting any household changes and meeting all renewal deadlines to keep benefits active.

How do I keep my benefits safe?

Clients can freeze or unfreeze their Lone Star Card, or request a replacement, by:

  • Calling the Lone Star Help Desk at 800-777-7328, or
  • Using the Your Texas Benefits mobile app
