Houston – Real Housewives of Miami star, celebrated event planner, and breast cancer survivor Guerdy Abraira joined us to talk about her incredible journey and her new book Trauma to Trophies.
In the book, Guerdy describes it as more than a memoir, it’s a manifesto, a blueprint, and a mirror. She challenges readers to take their own hardships whether a diagnosis, heartbreak, loss, or reinvention and turn them into “trophies.”
Abraira was also named one of Vogue’s Top Wedding Planners and has built a career celebrating joy and resilience. Now, she’s channeling that same energy into the nonprofit, SurviveHER.
SurviveHER is dedicated to breast cancer awareness, education, and support. Its biggest event of the year, the SurFIVEHER Soirée: A Pink Night of Giving, takes place tonight. The event is sold out but you can still donate to the cause here.
Started by Lyndsay Joy Levingston, the goal is to raise $100,000 to provide critical financial assistance for uninsured and underserved women in Houston, funding life-saving mammograms and breast health services.
Guerdy says her biggest trophy is not just surviving but using her voice to help others do the same.
