Invite safety to the dinner table with Crime Stoppers of Houston Million for Million Campaign

HoustonCrime Stoppers of Houston is turning student artwork into everyday reminders about safety as part of its statewide Million for Million (M4M) campaign. Launched in January, the initiative asks young people to create drawings that illustrate safety messages from online safety to being a good friend some prints will get the chance to be on kids’ menus at Gringo’s Mexican Kitchen.

CEO of Crime Stoppers of Houston Rania Mankarious, a mother of three, says the idea grew from a desire to counter harmful online content with positive, uplifting public-safety messaging. The campaign set out to reach one million students and educators across Texas; thanks to community support and a major philanthropic gift, organizers say they’ve reached more than nine million students so far!

Mankarious emphasizes the dinner table as a key place for conversation. “We wanted the conversation to be everywhere by integrating safety messages into everyday family moments, the program aims to make talking about difficult topics easier and more natural.

Students can submit one-sheet artwork with safety messages for consideration to be printed on menus. Crime Stoppers also offers school presentations, digital resources, and a Safe School Institute that brings age‑appropriate messaging to students across the state.
